The Flamescarred formed on the Isle of Kortos during the Age of Collapse to fight against the apocalypse and help the island's remaining populace survive under the fearsome gaze of the Prime, an undead ancient dragon the Alchemist used to quell threats to her reign. They adopted the techniques of the Firebrands, using trickery, guerilla tactics, and covert actions to secure food and goods, move families between safe places, and sabotage the Alchemist's forces wherever possible.
When the Second Heroes' March made its way to Kortos, the Flamescarred found natural allies among the Marked: a group known as The Wildcards, who shared their commitment to mutual aid and direct action. They shared their techniques with the Wildcards, as well as one of their more novel inventions: the Flamescarred Longboard, a clockwork vehicle consisting of a flat plank of wood over two pairs of motorized wheels that allows a skilled rider to move quickly and efficiently over most terrain. Though they are now defunct, the Wildcards would go on to spread the Flamescarred's skills and technology across the Inner Sea region, leading to a renaissance of rebels and freedom fighters helping to guide the world through this new Age of Renewal.
Though the Prime's defeat at the hands of the Marked has made their covert tactics less necessary, the Flamescarred remain active on the Isle of Kortos as a community mutual aid organization, helping to organize the trade and distribution of goods between settlements and facilitating the reconstruction of Absalom.
