Little is known of the place once called Bauchan. Shortly after the Alchemist began her assault on Golarion, the people of Haseong saw a purple-green aurora in the sky to the north. It was bright enough to turn night to a sickly day.
The next day, scouting parties reported that the entire nation of Bachuan, in addition to small portions of Hwanggot and Tianjing nearest it were utterly destroyed. Every form of life had been eradicated in an instant.
In the millennium since that day, grasses, shrubs, and small creatures have returned to Bachuan. No people have settled there and few would consider it. It is sometimes called "The Land of Ten Thousand Ghosts" in whispers. Even discussing the zone risks ill tidings, many nearby believe.
