Billie and Henry meet at school. They fill in each other's day before, Billie telling about his spider bite, and Henry telling about the girl, Unknown, from the future she met. Joss also joins in and gets the update on why Henry ditched the Intrepid meeting.

In history class, Henry updates Reiji, and they plan to all go see Vicky. Called out for not paying attention in class, the teacher asks Henry, "who was Canada's first prime minister?" Henry incorrectly answers "Churchill", from which Billie blurts out the real answer.

In the first session of music class, everyone takes up instruments. Reiji fails at clarinet. Henry does well enough at flute. But before Billie goes, a classmate dominates on saxophone. Billie turns to see it's Alana, whom he suddenly remembered from the other timeline and couldn't carry a tune before. Billie's attempt with his trumpet is smooth, but he fails to impress as much as Alana did.

The group meets after school and goes to the bridge, under which is Vicky's camp. When they find no one there, she pops out from behind a tree, recognising Henry. They introduce each other and Vicky tells her story, truthfully with telepathic persuasion from Billie. Billie also reveals that he has memories from an alternate timeline.

She then tells her plan to break into Burwash and open the crystal. Billie shows her a large vent he had gone through in the other timeline. He then tries to open the vent by hurling rocks at it with his powers, but fails to do it with enough energy.

Vicky then requests help monetarily to get on her feet out of the wilderness, as well as manipulating Billie's father for access, in order to put her plan into action. Joss volunteers to help Billie forge fake security clearance, and Henry offers her home to Vicky.

Henry takes Vicky home and introduces her to her mom. Much to Henry's surprise, she whole-heartedly accepts Vicky to stay. Henry shows Vicky the shower and clothes borrowed from her mother before taking Sherlock for a short walk.

Billie and Reiji walk together discussing swearing and Vicky. Reiji queries that if Vicky grew up here, the younger version of herself must be here now. They determine that she must be in the same class as Unknown.

Before getting any closer to Billie's home, they come across a weird-looking rock under a lamppost. Billie gets a weird vibration from it, then the top of it turns around to reveal a strange face: smooth and disc-shaped like and owl's face, except lacking any eyes or beak. The rock below the head begins to rearrange itself to form a skeletal body. Both Billie and Reiji recognise this creature from their respective timelines. Billie channels communication with it, receiving a cacophony of unhuman voices. He manages to come to an arrangement to bring the crystal to it.

Henry and Sherlock return home and Vicky comes out of the bathroom reminiscing the era's style of clothing. They join Mrs Morand for dinner and discuss Vicky's situation. Vicky makes up a convincing cover story, stating she returned from a residential school and had lost her family and documentation while away. Mrs Morand then offers to help Vicky get a job in town.

They then reach the Dean home and find Marcus watching static again. Billie asks if he knows of any black-hair, blue-eyed, fair-skinned girls in his class, to which Marcus immediately recalls the weird Japanese triplets as being the closest to the description, but lacking the blue eyes. He then recalls a girl matching in the first grade. Marcus turns the topic back to the triplets and ask Billie what's normal, citing how weird they act together. Billie essentially brushes off the triplets and asks Marcus to report to him about the first grade girl. Reiji announces his leave for home, but not before he and Billie exchange phone numbers.
