A golem created by the gnome scientist Gwenllian in an experiment to imbue a soul into a construct. He was trapped in the ruins of an old temple of Gond for a few centuries before being freed by a group of adventurers.
Over the course of the following months he became a Cleric of Gond and an adventurer in his own right; along with the adventurers who first released him they became the Heroes of Elturel. During their time in Avernus, Cog ended up bonding with the holy sword of Zariel which transformed him and, even after returning it to her, he became a Celestial.
