A Guide to Looking for Clues
Looking for clues can be confusing. Here is a list of things to remember when looking for clues in D&D:
Rule #1: Write down everything!
ALWAYS seek out rumors at the local tavern FIRST!
ALWAYS search the body
ALWAYS search the room
Find the smart guy or the guy with connections
Ask ALL your unanswered questions
Talk to EVERYONE
Don't just run off to the next quest when you get a clue or direction. Gather all the information you can while in that area or town.
Often, you will search an area that has nothing in it. I will roll the dice anyway so that you don't know it's empty.
Use spells!
