Home to great clans Orcs periodically raiding the High Road region including Waterdeep. The orcs have been checked repeatedly by the interventions of powerful dragons - both chromatic (Claugiyliamatar and Ebondeath) and metallic (Lhammaruntosz and Palarandusk). Includes the tunnel network-kingdom of Gnomengarde, and the ruins of the dwarven fortress of Icespire Hold to protect tunnels to dwarven vaults now beneath earthquake debris - likewise, the Wave Echo Caves have twice fallen beneath great landslides, most recently in 1491 DR after the misdeeds of the so-called Black Spider.
