Results of using Ujio's Seeing Sword to perform a Legend Lore on the "Ruinstone"

  • In times untold, two stones turned in balance - nothing empowered and nothing suffering of their making.
  • During a battle that began an eon past in the Astral Plane and cut across world-barriers to other existences,
    • a wizard-warrior  used his final act of defiance to reach across worlds and sever the binding of the two stones
    • to deliver vast destruction on his enemies,
    • but isolating allies in worlds no longer linked by the armada’s war-weapons.
  • One of the stones tumbled through the infinite seas of the Astral and Ethereal,
    • a fiery red crystal that one day found its way into the palms of those
    • who would use its power to bind and unbind to further their own power.
  • Yet use of this accursed stone would unleash calamities so ruinous,
    • often nothing is remembered of their legacies
    • other than the naming of the Ruinstone.
    • Even less is known of what befell the other stone or its nature.
  • The Ruinstone has been pursued far more than it has been found,
    • It imposes some power over time itself, thereby obscuring the history of its use.
    • How many legends, how many peculiarities of history are tied to this pulsing, heart-like artifact
    • from unfathomably ancient time and distant space?

I was unsatisfied with the motives of the attacking forces in the Leilon Besieged phase of the Storm Lord's Wrath/Divine Contention story (which is essentially the crux of the whole thing, too) - and the Ruinstone McGuffin is kind of weird-and-lame and otherwise pretty vague on why all the fuss.
