The rebuilt tower is now the new seat of the displaced Sunblight Clan, extending from his nearby secret outpost and the returning of troops deployed during the Desolation.  These assets afforded the Sunblights sufficient defensive strength against the weakened towns. The business-is-business-minded Muzgardts negotiated the formal surrender of Sunblight Stronghold to them (becoming Spine Stronghold), and allowed for the Sunblights to stand at Caer Konig.  This town is now downward-facing - hostile but mostly indifferent to the other surface settlements, they have rebuilt a tower at the site of the ruined Caer and plunged into the Underdark.

Holds a truce through their surrender to Clan Muzgardt, who now runs Spine Stronghold (once Sunblight Stronghold). Truce extends to the Chardalyn Syndicate - which, ironically, has specifically forbidden any chardalyn from being traded with Caer Konig. Founders were from north of the Moonsea, now fading from memory.

About

Speaker: "Lord Sunblight" (Xardorok Sunblight and his son Hjalthrun as Captain of the Guard) are in charge of this dark and quiet place. The prior Speaker, Trovuss Silver Dragonborn - retired adventurer, good humor, over-blunt, drinking problem in wake of events that began with the everlasting winter, died in the Desolation, along with essentially the entire population.

Population: unknown, Duergar within and below the (rebuilt and fortified) tower, plus small interactions in the outbuildings.

Industry: Once mainly fishing here, but ended with the frozen lake and the Duergar farming the Underdark instead. Once base camp for expeditions eastward, that now is cut off but for expeditions from Caer Dineval (controlled by the Knights of the Black Sword) or Termalaine.
