Nightlock seems to be an intelligent, quick witted and friendly Tiefling, but at heart, he is a lover of animals and his close friends. Jaelin believes that no one has the right to cause anyone else any kind of suffering and tries to walk with a soft heart and mouth. Jaelin is really good friends with a scientist named Jilarzi. They have worked together on jobs in the past. She is a xenobotanist and can be eccentric at times. Jilarzi and Nightlock were working a mission together when he was very young and he struck the wrong target and killed an innocent man. Jilarzi tried everything in her knowledge and power to save the man, but he ended up passing. That has haunted Jaelin for years. He doesn't necessarily have problems ending lives, but he doesn't want to take out any innocent ones.
While out exploring the universe, Jaelin keeps and open heart and mind about what mysteries are waiting to be discovered. He also realizes that the universe is a dangerous place and tries to never let his guard down.
