Edolas is known for its wide-spread lands holding mountains and vast canyons. Due to its terrain, cities of Edolas are far apart, sometime taking weeks to travel between cities and thus dangerous to travel the roads alone. Bandits, Goblin hordes, and wild beasts are very common in the roads of Edolas. In addition, Edolas is in the northern-most part of Tethyr so its winters are the coldest in the kingdom. Although Edolas has the largest land mass of the 5 Nation-states, it holds the lowest population. It is also the location of the dreaded Shadow Scar or more commonly known as, "The Fog".
