Year 0902 :The Raven Queen's Seven Deadly Sins

Once... a long time ago, the Material plane was home to only a few sentient races, Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Gnomes, Exceed, and Dragons. The God of Law, Primus, noticed that as the ages pass, life on the Material plane was growing and taking on new forms, such as Tielfling, Dragonborn, Tabaxi, half races, new and unique races, variations of different creatures and beast, all now inhabited the Material Plane. Primas decided that the free will of the Material Plane denizens was out of control, creating chaos and needed to be controlled. So he inserted a magical rune into the Plane known as The Potara. The Potara was designed to absorb chaotic or impulsive emotions and foster law and order. The Raven Queen, goddess of Death and Tragedy, feeling Primus over stepped his boundary to keep balance in the Material Plane, created 7 Constructs out of the Chaotic and impulsive emotions the Potara was designed to absorb, known as the Seven Deadly Sins, and let them loose on the world.

Primus believed that The Raven Queen’s actions was an act of war against Law and Order. But instead of taking responsibility for his action and sending his Modron warriors to combat the threat, he felt the people of Material Plane should defend themselves. The God Primus selected 9 paladins and a wizard to collect the sins and place them into a special box created by the divine artificer Pandora, dubbing it, “Pandora’s Box”.

He then sought to kill the Raven Queen for intervening, who proved to be too powerful for the God of Law and he was horribly wounded. In a desperate attempt to defeat her, Primus used a the Potara he placed in the realm, to split the Raven Queen into 2 separate beings. After which he retreated to his plane to recover and left the Oath Keepers to deal with the aftermath.

Unknown to Primus, splitting the Raven Queen didn’t just weaken her, but her 2 beings manifested very different personalities and traits based on the compassion or vengeance she had for the souls she was meant to look after. One half was fully good that represented her compassion for the innocent who would have died at unjust hands, who's souls she would comfort and escort to the afterlife, protecting them from the curse of undeath; calling itself "Hope". The other half was fully evil, representing the discontent for those who she felt deserved loneliness and suffering, whom she doomed to wander the
ethereal plane, never knowing if they would ever find rest in the afterlife; calling itself "Despair".

The Oathkeepers fought Despair but couldn’t defeat it, so they resolved to trick it into a trap. The Oathkeepers wizard, Berekley, created a magical prison using a Wish spell, strong enough to hold Despair, but expelled his entire magical ability in the process. They called the prison called the, Pandorica. In order to forever keep the two halves separate, Berkeley used his remaining magical ability to cast an Alter Memories spell on Hope and told her that she was the guardian to keep the sins in check from inside the Pandora’s Box. Thus, separating the two halves of the Raven Queen and locking away her and her Chaos constructs, the Seven Deadly
