Known far and wide as “The Mad King”, Khorvaire is ruled over by a selfish king named Marakov Dreyar. King Dreyar is a human who has made it well known that he is willing to put the lives of his subjects in harms way to achieve his ambitions. He has implemented strange and seemingly random laws in various cities but never nation wide. Everything from mandatory drafts in some towns, to heavy taxes in others. All with a excessive enforcement, going as far as destroying entire towns for not being able to “support the imperial causes”. His latest questionable act is making a deal with the crime lord of Tethyr, Lady Me, to purchase 1,500 “Reborn Wingly” warriors to add to his already massive military.
Marakov is married to a human female named Cerci, whom is rarely seen and is never heard. Together they have no children. Cerci seems to blindly respect Marakov and has shown support in his efforts, but it is unclear if she is fully aware of his works or intentions.
No one has publicly seen King Marakov Dreyar’s face since he has become king as he is always seen wearing his signature golden rams head helmet, the ram being his family symbol. Rumors spread as the reason, varying wildly from a deformity due to dark magic to a simple symbol of strength.
