This vast crack in the earth emits a cold purple or violet light that seems to come from impossibly deep underground. Its source is unknown and cannot be seen from the top, and no one who has gone to investigate has been seen alive again. It is rumored that on of the Exceed's great flying cities crashed here hundreds of years before the Dragon Champaign, and it's Lacrama core erupted, causing the Chasm, but this is unconfirmed as there seems to be documented cases of the Glowing Chasm in writings of the Druid's who once inhabited the area calling it, "The Great Chasm".
However, This light can be seen from miles away. It seems to be a common gathering spot for the mutated horrors that prowl the Mournland. It is theorized the purple light played a part in creating them. While this is unconfirmed, it is certain that it affects them, as those monsters that frequent the Glowing Chasm grow even more foul and corrupted than before.
The mutated golden Dragon, Haze-Of-Death, clawed his way out of the chasm after the end of the Dragon Champaign, and still lairs near the chasm and has claimed the Mournland as his territory.
