Sword Island is a small island in between Elient and
The Island is inhabited by a group of Orc's that worship a Djinn in exchange for its magical service. The inhabitants live in cave dwellings and simple huts. The Djinn is very protective over the Orc's. There is a natural levy that rises on the northern side about 15 feet high. Small breaks in this natural levy create beautiful and almost fairytale looking waterfalls, most of which flow into small pools of water, deep enough to swim in, but shallow enough for a human to stand. Because of the Orc village and the protection of the Djinn, the area is completely undisturbed by any type of civilization, making it a haven for unique fey such as Pixies. Even very rare creatures such as unicorns have been reported by travelers.
The far west side of the Island is an area of distortion. It’s a place where a visible line, like a translucent vail, turns everything into dusk. Creatures on the dusk side can not be seen on the light side and vise versa, although structures can. The local Orc's call it "The Twilight". You can feel the emptiness as you get closer, the pit of your stomach begins to feel uneasy and nauseous. The Twilight spans the width of the island and is about a days walk (30 Miles) long. Time passes significantly different here. 1 day in The Eternal Twilight is 30 days on the outside. Healing magic has only half effect and one not native to the area is unable to enter a natural or magical sleep. The area is home to many, Shadows, Displacer Beasts and Nothic. Here is the location of The Vorpal Sword. It is protected by a vicious monster.
“The Eternal Twilight is noticeably cold. 40 Degrees at all times. It smells of stale air and musty wood. The grass seems black and tree’s have no leaves. You notice that anything moving seems to be slightly blurry, waving your hand in front of your face you are able to see a slightly delayed and blurry shadowy trail. As you speak, you notice a natural echo, as if standing in a cave or large church. There seems to be no life, at least not life your use to seeing, and there is a constant, passive, but noticeable whispering coming from an inaudible direction.”
