House Dreyar is the current ruling House of The Kingdom of Khorvaire. House Dreyar took over the throne of Khorvaire from House Edmeion 200 years after the Dragon Campaign. They have a long history of Wizards in the bloodline and a descendant, Ivo Dreyar, was part of the Great Emperor Telxul Diaz's Imperial Inner Circle. Although the public acknowledges that House Dreyar usurped the throne, the Dreyars have mostly kept the country politicly unchanged, only making minor policy changes over time. However, King Gideon Dreyar began a soft campaign of fostering racism towards the mixed races, such as Teifling and Genasi, as well as races he consider "primitive" such as Orcs, Kobold, and Goblinoids. Over a few generations, this became full systematic racism as these races where either killed, banished to under-cities, or forced out of the county all together, leaving only pure blood Elves, Humans, and Dragonborn living in the major cities.
