The child of an infamous burglar and a dangerous hitwoman, born after the couple was sentenced to life in prison, Hanne has never known life outside the confines of Highwatch and its on-shore labor camps. Though her mother made some effort to raise her, most of her "education" was provided by the worst criminals in the Ironlands-- she won't talk much about the stories that don't end with her killing in self-defense. By the time her parents died in a mining accident, she had grown into a strong, pragmatic, mildly sadistic girl, with an odd sort of apathy about being sent to work in those same mines the very next year.
Despite never formally being charged with a crime herself, the jailers' concern over her "violent tendencies" has led to her continuing de facto imprisonment. She's never once tried to escape, though, and seems reasonably content with her life of dredging up iron, menacing townsfolk, and the occasional drug smuggling operation for her fellow prisoners. Who knows what's going on in that head of hers, though?
Hanne is an odd duck to say the least; when she does speak at all, her expressions rarely match up with what she's saying, and there's an almost child-like frankness to her words. Occasionally seen carrying on one-sided conversations with animals, especially those who live in the ground. The closest thing she has to a friend is her dealer Jolfur, whom she inadvertently saved from a mugging years ago by attempting to mug him herself. On relatively good terms with Mine Commander Valdo, who seems to pity her (and will turn a blind eye to most anything when scratch is on the table.)
Likes moles, secret passages, and eating live insects to gross people out. Dislikes birds (owls are ok but on thin ice), physical affection, and bright sunlight.
Stat Breakdown
Edge [1]
Let's just say her reflexes leave something to be desired.
Heart [1]
Doesn't have much empathy for others or much to live for herself. Has a hard time communicating her feelings even if she wants to.
Iron [3]
A beast of a woman, used to long hours of impossibly heavy labor.
Shadow [2]
She finds comfort in the shadows, and has a surprising knack for stealth despite her size.
Wits [2]
Could have been an engineer in another life. Has picked up a broad knowledge of survival skills from her fellow prisoners.
