Halfling

Halflings are a peaceful race, known by many races as the small folk. They live in close-knit agricultural communities and are generally a home-loving people. When out in the world, halflings generally avoid notice entirely or ingratiate themselves with everyone around them. Halflings can be fairly diverse in appearance, some being categorised into distinct sub-races:

• Ghostwise Halfling
• Lightfoot Halfling
• Stout Halfling

Distribution

In The Known World, halflings originate from central Tide, in the area now known as Middenfall. Halflings have had an impact on human culture, teaching old farming techniques to the later human settlers. Halflings outside of Tide are rare as very few like to travel beyond their homestead, outside of their homeland they're often mistaken for small humans.

The only large group of halflings outside of Tide are clans of ghostwise halflings on Korona Morska.

Arauglbrok

Halflings are almost nonexistent in Arauglbrok, as they originate from the opposite side of The Great Rift.

Haelspur

Halflings are very rare in Haelspur, mostly being descendants of castaways or lone travellers.

Korona Morska

Halflings are rare in Korona Morska, and most who live here belong to ghostwise halfling clans.

Rhak

Halflings are almost nonexistent in Rhak, the few that live here are travellers from Tide and the heat disagrees with them.

Tabasamu La Miungu

Halflings are very rare in Tabasamu La Miungu, those who live here are travellers from Tide.

Tide

In Tide, both lightfoot and stout halflings are common, though most are concentrated in central Theder around Middenfall, or western Pauviel near the farming belts of Cassari.

Vatan

Halflings are almost nonexistent in Vatan, as they originate from the opposite side of The Great Rift.
