The Plane of Water is an Inner Plane which sits between The Prime Material Plane and The Astral Plane. It is mostly inhabited by water elementals and creatures who are able to survive underwater.
The Plane of Water is an endless ocean, which alternates between perfect calm water like glass, and storms with waves the size of mountains. Islands and atolls are dotted throughout the sea, rising up from coral reefs. These small pockets of land are sought after by the few air breathers who reside in the plane.
Travel
Travel to The Plane of Water is achieved through various spells, or via The Ethereal Plane. Crossings into The Plane of Water can occur rarely in The Material Plane, and only in places where water is the dominant element, such as the deepest depths of the ocean. Sometimes temporary portals to The Plane of Water are created in the eye of a storm, drawing in ships from The Material Plane. These vessels have little hope of returning home.
