Focus is each mage’s individual way of grounding themselves before casting. This a personal and intimate matter, which takes a shorter amount of time than actual casting. It has the same purpose as the somatic of Casting (Citadel) at its heart, but it’s not uncommon to see mages doing their focus-ritual before any challenging task, such as holding a speech. Examples of focus can be: touching your forehead, singing a tune, repeating a mantra, praying.
