Olalia was from the village of Callol, a small village in Southern Cyre on the border with Darguun. The village was raided by the Darguuls, and Olalia was taken prisoner along with the rest of the village. Her teeth, gums, and much of the muscle in her mouth are petrified and cast in black marble. It is unknown whether this was torture by the darguuls or an effect of the Mourning, as she cannot speak. More than this, she is unable to communicate at all, and some curse prevents her from understanding any language. The only known way to communicate with her is telepathy.
After rescuing her from Teral ir'Soras, the Mist Walkers took her to the district of Overlook in Sharn, where the Kalashtar are able to communicate with her. The Enlightened Havakhad has been working to untangle the curse that prevents her from communicating.
