Karrnathi Necro-Arsenals Remain Hidden

WROAT—The Brelish Parliament is clamouring for the public release of a report contending that Karrnath is maintaining "necro-arsenals" beyond it's borders, and that at least one of these is situated in northern Breland. According to our sources within Parliament, they have had this report for several days.

One individual who has read the report, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the Sharn Inquisitive that a band of Brelish army veterans uncovered one of these "necro-arsenals" last month in northern Breland whilst searching for buried war gold. These veterans, whose names were expunged from the report, found a secret entrance to an underground fortress which was allegedly "full of Karrnathi undead soldiers and weapons". This hidden emplacement was also equipped with a fully functional smithy and several other chambers used for "unspecified necromantic purposes".

Most of the soldiers within the fortress were not animated, but the soldiers did enter conflict with the few that were. The group took heavy casualties, and the few survivors managed to flee and report their discovery to the Brelish Army at the Sword Keep outpost. Papers that they retrieved from the fortress hint at the existence of similar hidden emplacements at other points along the path of Karrnath's advances during the Last War - most of which now lie within Aundair, Thrane and the Mournland.

If what these papers indicate is true, and Karrnath is maintaining army bases beyond their border, they would be in violation of the Treaty of Thronehold. The strategic purpose of such emplacements remains unknown, though Karrnath's military doctrine has traditionally emphasized the importance of keeping large forces in reserve at all times.

Representatives of the Brelish Crown, and the Karrnathi diplomatic mission, were unavailable to comment on this report. Karrnath's embassador to Breland was reputedly recalled to Korth last week for "routine consulations."
