Briar is a Greensinger and a bard, and was an important figure in the secession of the Eldeen Reaches. In the decade leading up to the secession, Briar traveled throughout the Reaches and encouraged people to embrace independence from Aundair. After the split, he remained active on the border between the Reaches and Aundair, rallying the spirits of the Reachers and embarassing Aundair's forces whenever the opportunity presented itself.
He was captured by Aundairian forces in 968 YK, and was shipped off to Dreadhold. The Aundairian treasury funds his imprisonment there, and he has spent the last 30 years in a magically silenced cell.
