The Glitterdrift is one of the more alien demiplanes within Khyber. It is a network of caves and tunnels, deathly quiet and oppressively dark. It has a peculiar property, both light and darkness take on more tangible forms in the Glitterdrift. Any light in the Glitterdrift behaves like a liquid, as the darkness is so heavy that it compresses it. The darkness is so oppressive that even creatures suited to the mundane darkness of Eberron, such as Dwarves and Goblinoids, find that they cannot see a thing.

The native fauna of the Glitterdrift have evolved to live in near total darkness, the only light source being the glittering river that runs through the demiplane, and grants it its name. As such, the creatures of the Glitterdrift navigate primarily via sound rather than sight. This has also resulted in those same creatures moving almost silently, in order to avoid predation by other, larger creatures. Just like the darkness, the silence in the Glitterdrift is pervasive, and it can play tricks on the minds of creatures not used to it.

There is no flora in the Glitterdrift, though there are forms of fungi that have managed to make a foothold there. Some of these species are bioluminescent, dripping multicoloured light onto the ground beneath them. There are also crystalline structures that occasionally grow on the walls, dormant until they come into contact with a light source, at which point they glow.

The demiplane is relatively linear, a network of caves and tunnels that surround the titual Glitterdrift, which flows from one end of the demiplane to the other. The river itself is calm, dropping into the caves from above on the far end, and then flowing down the 20-mile length of the demiplane before disappearing into the rock on the other side.
