The Dukedom of Reeds and Water Lilies is the faction of Boggards that occupy the Lagoons of Piety. Their society is monarchical, led by Reedduke Grugenos, with every village having some form of noble ruling over them and reporting to the Reedduke. Historically, their society revolved around these nobles, and the collective faith of the people would mold those nobles into beings worthy of their adoration thanks to the effects of the Lagoons of Piety. Villages would produce Knights, brave (and sometimes reckless) boggards who would go on quests to slay dangerous creatures, keeping the demiplane safe(ish), and these Knights would be similarly bolstered by their friends belief in them.
Since the arrival of the Quor-Toa in the Lagoons, however, the Dukedom has been shaken. They attempted to drive the quor-toa away, and the quor-toa got desperate enough that their prayers manifested a god to save them. This god wreaked havoc on the soldiers of the Dukedom, and they lost many good Knights in a very short amount of time. This led to the boggards praying for salvation themselves, and they too manifested a god to save them: the goddess Gogunta.
Both gods destroyed each other, leading to a stalemate between the two factions. The Dukedom did not worship a god before these events, and Gogunta's manifestation has led to the development of a priest class among the Dukedom, providing a form of upwards mobility for the layfrogs.
