Murkwater-on-the-Lagoons, known as simply Murkwater, is the capital of the Dukedom of Reeds and Water Lilies, and is home to the residence of the Reedduke: the Palace of Reeds. The settlement is surrounded by a wooden palisade, cut from the mangrove forest, and the majority of the buildings are on stilts, suspended above the waters of the Lagoons of Piety.
The Dukedom is monarchical, and resembles medieval feudalism in its structure. As such, many of the denizens of Murkwater are something akin to nobility. It is the home of the Dukedom's knights and heroes, who venture out on quests for glory and honour.
