What does gods want with mortals?
The Gods want mortal worship to fuel their eternal divine plans, and such worship only comes in the form of belief willingly granted.
Why do mortals worship gods?
It is very important to emphasize that worshiping gods are optional in the world of Enochia, and there are many mortals that live their life without a deity.
Mortals who worship gods are often ones that find great comfort in having direction in their life, and gods offer exactly that.
Another benefit for some, is that gods claim to offer mortal souls sanctuary in the afterlife. And because many aren't content with living a finite life, many choose to dedicate their lives to worshiping a god, to make sure their life continues on, even when their body dies.
How do mortals communicate with gods?
Interactions with gods
are limited in Enochia. While some mortals still pray for comfort, gods
are not known for answering.
The only reliable place to directly interact with gods are through Godstones or indirectly through The Fulfillment.
How is worship accepted?
A mortal can choose to willingly offer their worship to a god at any point, it does not require a Godstone.
If the offer is sincere, and the mortal do not worship another god, their offer of worship may eventually manifest as a connection that
the mortal will actually 'feel'.
Historians refer to this as the The Fulfillment.
The sensation mortals get, when their chosen deity have accepted their
worship, and their mortal soul has a resting place in the afterlife.
Can mortals withdraw worship?
Not outright. Once established, the fulfillment can only be safely removed by the mercy of the god. And they rarely do so lightly.
A mortal can choose to act against the ideals of the god, which can cause the god to sever the bond violently. This separation may have devastating consequences for the mortal, and has been known to be anything from depression, permanent injury or death.
