Bugsy
Bugsy was estranged in the Nexus about 1900 years ago when his master and companions were all killed by templars of Tiamat. They were a small group trying to work against the Tri-king in Baldur’s Gate, now called Balic. For many years he drank his problems away. A traveler from one of the other zones came through and convinced him to travel back with him. They both joined a caravan that traded in wines. Buying local wines in one location and selling them in other zones. He traveled for a long time until he found the Temple of Mystra.
He joined the church as an acolyte. He studied in the church for almost 100 years before coming back to his home zone. He has been doing pilgrims in Mystra’s name ever since. About a month ago, his connection with Mystra became weak within his zone. He traveled through three zones to find his original temple. He was overjoyed to find his connection was strong again there. He had been there for the last couple of weeks. He was trying to find out why his connection had been weakened. He did figure it out. Mystra was dead in his zone. He still has a weak connection to her through the zone connections to the temple.
When the call went out to gather at the mountain he was still in the temple. It took him days to get back, only to discover he was too late to help Weasleton.
Wakanga
Deals in magic and lore
Wakanga O’tamu is the only arcane spellcaster among the merchant princes. He’s a long-time friend of Syndra Silvane, and he’s something of a dandy who’s easily seduced by smart women — or perhaps that’s only a carefully constructed public image. Unknown to his peers, Wakanga is sympathetic to the Harpers and allows them to use his villa as a safe house.
Wakanga deals in knowledge, information, lost lore, potions, and scrolls. He knows of the death curse but little else about it. If the you seem committed to ending the curse, he’ll probably help you as best he can, including selling you minor magic items. Wakanga has a monopoly on these items in Port Nyanzaru.
