The party spend the next 6 hours of the day travelling back to the Mordred Plains. The extra gear carried by the departed war bull is now shared among the remaining horse riders, slightly slowing the proceedings.
They return safely and meet with Lord Torma Mordred. The details of the parties travels are shared and they inform him of the Lizardfolk shape-changer and their negotiations with the The Unbound Tribe.
Torma is displeased that a bull was let loose as part of the bargain, but accepts the party's decision to minimise casualties. When Cranda is brought up in conversation Torma explains that he has not yet seen him but knows he has returned, as he travelled separately from the party.
The party inform Torma that they now seek the element stones, to glimpse a further understanding of their power, and hopefully use them against the rising forces of the other worlds.
Farewells are given by Torma and his men, but not before a few scouts are assigned to guide the party. They wish to travel north and seek the source of the viewing eye they have acquired.
The party spend the last hours of daylight travelling to a cluster of trees where they find the looking eye. A stone-like reptilian eye that is fastened to a branch with vines that protrude from its underside. After a few fumbles climbing the tree, Edward Fogbluff and Crom manage to get the item down. WIth the use of the command word the vines recede within the stone eye into a hole in its base. Now with the completed pair they can deploy and scry upon a location of their choosing.
The party return to the town in the dark, without trouble. They stay one last night in The Prized Cow before making the preparations to leave.
Mornington Lormanston visits Rine Mordred to say goodbye, during which he asks for a private conversation, the guards and maids are dismissed once more. He presses her to tell him what is happening with her pregnancy, that he witnessed evidence to show it is clearly a lie. She swears him to secrecy, and that if this should slip, it could mean peril for the Mordred family. Rine can no longer bare children, and failed to provide a male heir. This pregnancy, although fake, is working in tandem with another pregnancy. Torma's child, by another woman. One who is willing to help the family under secret oath. Rine wishes to keep up appearances and show the town that a rightful heir is being brought into the world.
With this secret in hand they have a heartfelt goodbye, and promise that their shared blood will always be an honoured allegiance.
The party gather at the western palisade gatehouse, here they are met by a dispatch of Mordred soldiers, led by Aegheard Leofred. The soldiers part to reveal the Lords children, Bella Mordred and Neve Mordred, who have come to give their farewells alongside captain Aegheard. Neve gives Crom a wink of a goodbye, hoping to see him again one day. Bella and Neve both say goodbye to their cousin, having only met Mornington for the first time but a few days past.
As the party put the Mordred plains to their back once more, they return to the road of adventure, to seek a particular guide in the Twisted Thicket.
