The tide are an elite council of elves that assist the Ulahice in governing the Shimmer Isles. The council consists of five members that are each the Elder Master of their order, selected at random once every 50 years from all elven masters of age two hundred and above.
The five areas of mastery that elven society focus on are as follows;
- Arcana Order of Arcanum
- Architecture Order of Arbores
- Arts and Community Order of the Spirit
- Commerce Order of Coin
- Hunting, Warfare, and Navy Order of the Hunt
Each town within the Shimmer Isles has at least one master from each category. They answer to the order and by extension the Elder Master of their speciality.
While not part of The Tide directly, there is also the Order of the Ancients, a religious sect of the elven people that is spread just as wide as any other order, if not more so.
