Session 79

Session Log
November 22, 2023

Wake in the Temple of the Ancients, Mornington Lormanston cries as per his curse, concerned acolyte offers them breakfast at the temple.

A message is sent to Folas Carna and one is received in return. The party are to meet The Tide at noon.

Amarion leads the party through the city to the truly imposing structure of the Lunas Orberus. Highly decorative guards confirm their identity before letting them into the palace.

Led through towards the dome chamber of the palace Mornington, Edward, and Crom meet Folas for the first time. He makes swift introductions so that he can introduce them to the remaining members of the Tide.

The party are ushered into the dome chamber, filled with brilliant light pouring through the stained glass dome ceiling. A round table hosts the members of the Tide, but an ornate throne, naturally formed from an appendage of the tree the building rests on, is empty.

The remaining four members aside from Folas are introduced and vice versa. Elauthin Rohorn Elder Master of the Hunt, Lethhonel Marlia Elder Master of ArchitectureLuirlan Ysabella Elder Master of Arts and Community, and Vanya Norralei Elder Master of Commerce.

Discussions begin, the Tide encouraging the party to share what they have discovered on their journeys. Amarion shares his time with the party but does not necessarily share other details of prior findings that have been shared with him.

Amarion knows the Tide have hidden some information from him, and by extension, so do the party. They bring up the fact that they have fought a Dragon, and prove it by presenting the Shadow Maul made from Karna-Kar's tail. Folas detects magical auras from the item and confirms its draconic origin.

This leads to a slew of shared information from Folas as he is no longer willing to keep the party in the dark. He divulges ancient elven history, despite the resistance he is met with by his fellow council members. The elves used to worship dragons in a long lost era, specifically the metallic dragons, great noble creatures. However, in great planar wars that took place with the Material Plane as its battlefield. The metallic dragons were wiped out, defending their home from the likes of angels, devils, demons, and more. Along with their genocide, their god died with them. In one fell strike the metallic dragons, and their beliefs, were gone. But a single spark of that deity planted itself into the Material Plane, and from the bodies of the slaughtered dragons arose the Dargean.

The elves continued in servitude, from worshipping the dragons, to their now humanoid counterparts. And a mighty empire was built, a millennia long campaign ensued, to block out the Outer Planes. The Dargean were successful, but they traded their own power, their own livelihood, to make it so. Gradually their empire fell to ruins, forgotten, hidden, lost.

The elves have not seen a Dargean in thousands of years, and only they can return order and keep the Outer Planes at bay.
