Session 93

Session Log
May 15, 2024

The discussion continues with Folas Carna and Jandar Bijor. Edward raises the fact that the primordials spoke to him offering help. Jandar turns this to say that the primordials, and better still Eloranos, give Amarion and himself help daily so that they can provide divine healing to those around them. The primordials are benevolent and were probably offering help to drive the evil from his life. The conversation still a bit prickly, Jandar says that the party are going to have to make the decision on the Element Stones themselves, they should however think of those that will be affected by such decisions. Folas still stands on the side of leaving them, as they don't understand the ramifications of such meddling. The conversation wraps up and Jandar wishes their last night in his temple to be restful, although he seems displeased to extend the courtesy to the warlock.

The party rest one last time in the Temple of the Ancients. When morning comes and they have packed all their belongings, Jandar watches them depart, a respectful nod gestured their way as they exit. The party visit some shops last minute and acquire a Cloak of Protection for Mornington. Then they head to the docks where they agreed to meet Folas.

Arriving at the river docks, one ship clearly outclasses the others present. The Tide have gathered to wish the party a safe voyage. A portable throne is carried by palace guard toward the gathering, Ulahice has made the effort to make an appearance and also wish the party farewell. All bow, even CromShe is dressed in many layers, clearly covering up to hide her poor health. This becomes far more apparent as her voice sounds weak and cracked as she delivers her parting words to the heroes, she hopes they are successful, and hopes more that she will have the chance to see them again.

Vanya Norralei catches Amarion before they board the grand ship anchored in the docks. He urges that Amarion find a way to rid the Hourglass Sea of the iceberg as it disturbs many trade routes and connection of various countries. Amarion states that there is far more at stake here, to which Vanya says "if we are to secure a future for ourselves, why can it not be a prosperous one."

Now boarded, they meet Melius Imryll, captain of The Lanalith, the ship that will transport the party to the heart of the Hourglass Sea. They soon set sail and embark on a two day journey across the sea. The weather quickly gets colder as they put distance between them and the Shimmer Isles, and on the first night Mornington casts Find Familiar from the Spell-Storing Ring provided by Edward. He summons a Fey bat that becomes his Familiar Spook, a green tinged, blue mouthed bat with curled tips to his ears.

Part way through the second day, they approach a giant span of mist and the waters get progressively more choppy. Melius will not risk going any closer to the iceberg, assuring they will all have a means to return home. The party use their Folding Boat to go on alone and part ways from the main crew.

Before long, shouts are heard through the mists coming from The Lanalith. Now seperated, the waters swell and a spray of sea water lashes the boat. Can they make it out of the waters, and can the small folding boat hold up against what lies beneath...
