Session 27

As we began fighting the skeleton people to free the fire elemental, we realized that the glyphs on the pedestal were made of holding magic. The fire elemental invoked flame newts to help, and we eventually managed to finish the skeletons.

After this, the fire elemental told us to break the glyph to free them. It took us a while but we managed to free them, and we began to question them. They explained that after the War, people hated elementals, that they enslaved them. The elemental say that they used to like this world. The war is said to have been caused by elementals but the elemental say otherwise. The War happened when Veil and the other Gods were still people.

When we were done asking them questions, the Fire Elemental left, and we decided to take a long rest. Rane took the first watch, Adriel next, and Whisper last. As we were watching, we realized that the humming sound we kept hearing was going away, that it was getting colder, and that the lava was solidifying.

Next day we continued through the tunnel. It was pretty cold now, and eventually it began to go up until we had to climb. Whisper levitated and gave us a rope, but eventually she had to turn into a monkey, because some weird metallic things were blocking the way up there. Adriel had a hard time climbing.

Once we were up there, we saw weird plates blocking the way, but we could hear people behind, and they eventually opened the door: they all were dressed as Veil Priests. We realized that we just landed in the Temple, but where there was lava before, there weren’t anymore, no fires. People everywhere were crying, everything in the city was powered down. Because of this, we decided to not tell them about the Fire Elemental.

We had to wait for 2 hours until a guard came back, and they lead us through a long corridor and eventually to a small study. A human woman was standing there with some magnificent robes, a highly decorated piece on her head etc. She asked us about how we got there, thinking that we were the reason that the city was in such a state. The High Priestess then tell us that she thinks the Power Stone is gone.

After this, she said she wanted to question us more at the Stone Barrack, and they lead us there. In the streets, people are talking about the events, we learned that this started happening in the middle of last night.

Eventually, they lead us to a holding cell. Whisper began to look around, looking for options to escape, but Adriel didn’t approve, thinking that we should wait.

After a long, long time, Zuri showed up and helped us escape. He said that he thought we were innocent, but that no one else thinks so. We then told him everything about “Nazim”, and he told us it was a good lead, as she’s a powerful sorceress from the Magic Academy. He then told us that we need to go to Mayven to prevent the next stone from being stolen, and told us of a safe place in Mayven called the “Scarp Way”, and that once we were there, we should drop his name.

We are then lead to the edge of the city, where he tells us that our horses are ready with supplies. He pats us on the shoulder and sends us on our way. The three of us talked for a while, and took our horses and left.
