Kender are a halfling sub-race which live in their village Kendralind within the Fumewood. They look like small elves rather than traditional halflings. They are never seen during the day and most elves fear them, believing them to be cannibals or blood-drinkers. In fact, the kender were originally from Krynn but were transformed by the gnomes of Sumpfberg into vampires at the order of Lord Soth.
Recently, the kender have been seen ranging further and further from the Fumewood. Thelion Nightblade believes that Azrael Drak is allowing them to spread for unknown reasons.
