A reclusive beast found in the cliffs of the Hinterlands and northeastern Havens. While kraken-like in appearance, the creature lives on land, typically lying in wait for unwary passersby but occasionally driven closer to civilization when prey is scarcer. The size of a giant, it typically makes use of its powerful tentacles and sharp claws and beak to hunt. Not quite as difficult to slay as its more powerful cousin but very much a force to be reckoned with.
Rumors persist of osmogorches being particularly prone to a leprosy-like affliction, though given the beast's rarity, this cannot easily be confirmed.
When dried, the skin of an osmogorch can be mixed with Cavespice root to instantly produce a flame.
