Overview
In the distant past, a fickle and now forgotten goddess of the hearth and home imbued on of the most gorgeous over looks in the entire Iron Maw Mountains range with her power. Some say it is a blessing, others say it is a curse.
When a wedding Ceremony is performed at this overlook, it invokes the forgotten goddess's power. The newlyweds take hands and attempt to leap from the overlook. The goddess's power looks into their hearts, and a couple with true love in their hearts and the ability to work together will be swept away on the wind and be able to fly until the next dawn. Those whose hearts are clouded with doubt and fear of speaking to each other will find the wind stops them from taking the leap. They know that in the long run, they will be fine, but have work to do. Woe betide those who hold no love, and only the promise of mistreatment, for the wind will not pay any attention to them, but the rocks at the bottom of the valley will.
Many Mountaineers avoid Lover's Leap because they fear the truth. As with all things, people change. Vow Renewals are far more popular to be conducted at Lover's Leap than marriages, and far more likely to get taken up by the winds.
