Bottled Daydream

Wondrous item, rare

When one first glimpses a Bottled Daydream, confusion usually follows hand in hand with wonder. What appears to be a fluid oilpainting constantly shifting, is in reality a benevolent spirit from the Feywild. Feeding on positive emotion of other living beings, they create fascinating daydreams that inspire calmness and relaxation.

Every day at dawn, the Bottled Daydream forms 1d4 new Daydreams. A player can spend 5 minutes of time to delve into one of these dreams by staring inside the bottle. For that amount of time, the character is fully commited to the currently experienced fantasy and counts as unconscious. Even breaking eye contact between the dreamer and the bottle doesn't cause the person to snap out of their trance, since the dream is now unfolding inside their mind. At the end of the 5 minutes the character comes back to their senses: As an effect of their relaxing dream, they lose 1 point of exhaustion and gain a 1d8 inspiration die. After all Daydreams currently in the Bottle have been used up, it appears to be empty apart from a mesmerizing fog.

"I don't really trust this one to be honest. I've heard of a lordling down in Elmstedt that has become addicted to these dreams. He keeps dozens of them in his mansion and wastes his time in the fantasies they weave. If you ask me about these spirits: Just say No." - Jette
