A large country full of wetlands, with many ties to the Kingdom of Graern, the High Duchy of Leijona was, for some time, part of the Medweda Empire, before winning a bloody war of independence. Leijona is the most different of all the north-lander countries of Liwilai, with a language resembling the language of Hugan more than Graernian or Tusindfrydian. Many parts of the country are also very rural, with most of the country having consisted of tribal communities of druids and rangers until even the early 1000s PW. The largest cities are close to its harbors, and the more inland you go, the less civilization you'll find, with the border to Medweda being covered in a thick forest. Nonetheless, Leijona was able to modernize relatively quickly, and while large parts of the country are still extremely rural, its still a far cry from the olden times. Nonetheless, quite a few tribes of Human (Sancstorylian), Wood Elves and Bearfolk still make their home in the frigid tundras of northern Leijona and the woods of central Leijona to this day, making up a sizeable part of its population.
