Shadow-Walkers and Light-Walkers are a relatively rare, artificial species that was first created as a side-effect of when the deity Rencal Kei-Rhai first absorbed the Obsidian Duke, Sh'ther Kei-Sihr, who at the time was a mindless being simply known as "The Shadow", before he reformed himself into something more stable from within Rencal. They often start out as energy-based constructs, created in a ritual as mere mindless servants made of of light or shadow and a bit of someone's soul energy, though they may eventually gain sentience and sapience either through an accident or by intervention, turning them into true Shadow- and Light-Walkers. However, many of them, especially when they first popped up after the Era of Shadows, are also people who simply were turned into Walkers in accidents involving Ena; while this is rare, it's a unique situation where the Soul splits from the body, and forms a new, Ena-based body for itself in the form of a Walker. Shadow- and Light-Walkers are near-ethereal in their nearly featureless forms and lack an organic body; most of what they are is their soul, surrounded by a shell of energy given form. They are able to eat and they sleep to replenish their energy, but they mostly sustain themselves on the energy around them. Some Walkers reportedly have the ability to transform into near anything, but most can only disguise themselves as something looking similar to either their creator or their old appearance before they got turned into Shadow- or Light-walkers. As their name suggests, Shadow-Walkers can seamlessly blend into the shadows and traverse through them, while Light-Walkers can do the same in bright light and well-lit areas. Shadow-walkers have a bit of an undeserving reputation of being irritable and violent, due to the chaotic nature of shadow-ena, so in the past, people tended to be a bit wary of them, but nowadays, most people realize they're just people like any other.
Spirit-People
The near complete lack of physical bodies and their complete inability to physically age gives Shadow- and Light-Walkers a pretty unique perspective on life; Light-Walkers tend to try to cherish the moments they have with their more short-lived loved ones, while Shadow-Walkers may try to bury their feelings as they lose the people they love. Not only that, but the fact that The Great Wasting left their original populations mostly unscathed also makes many people consider them living relics. Nonetheless, Walkers tend to remain unseen, due to their unique ability to take on a more normal-seeming form. This isn't due to any fear of discrimination, but rather out of a fear of unwanted attention; namely due to the healing tears that Shadow-Walkers produce, or the poisonous tears the Light-Walkers produce; both of which have many applications, making them very sought-after, especially by prominent arcanists and illiadologists.

Racial Traits
Ability Scores: +2 DEX +1 CHA
Age: Due to lacking a physical body, Shadow- and Light-Walkers don't physically age and are potentially immortal, unless killed.
Alignment: Due to their closeness to the Illiadian deity of shadow, Shadow-Walkers tend to lean towards chaotic alignments, while Light-walkers are more lawful.
Size: Usually Medium, but size usually depends on the make-up of their soul.
Speed: Walking: 30ft
Creature Type: Due to your unique connection to Sh'ther Kei-Sihr, you are an Aberration.
Languages: Common, Standard Illiadian
Dual Nature: You are allowed to have two types of the trait "
Heart of Illiad". Your secondary Ena-Type determines the color of your eyes and the
glowing marks on your body. Either way, your secondary Heart of Illiad
can be used as another damage-type for your Ena-abilities (for a
Shadow-Walker) or is your only Ena Damage-Type (for a Light-Walker). Any
conflicting resistances or immunities cancel each other out.
*** if you're a Shadow-Walker, "Heart of Obsidian" is your primary "Heart of Illiad"-Trait, while your secondary "Heart of Illiad" is chosen by you.
***If you are a Light-Walker, your primary "Heart of Illiad" is "Heart of Blinding White", while your secondary "Heart-of-Illiad" is determined by you (it can't be Heart of Obsidian).
Ethereal Form: You do not need to but are able to eat or breathe and sleep, have a natural resistance towards poison and non-magical slashing and non-magical piercing damage, immunity towards pretrification and diseases and emit a gentle light in the color of your primary Ena-type within a 15 ft radius of you, that you can dim to a nearly undetectable 2ft radius without using an action.
Upon your death, your body fades out of existence and a fist-sized Ena-Crystal is left in its place. It acts as your body when using spells to bring you back from the dead. When successfully resurrected, the crystal shatters and a new body forms in its place. If it is destroyed before resurrection (it has 10 HP and has an AC of 15), you can't be resurrected by any means besides Wish, Resurrection if there is at least a single 1 cubic inch shard of your crystal left, and True Resurrection. The Crystal can be repaired with a Mending-cantrip, which will once again allow resurrection through other means.
Blend In: You take on the form of the type of humanoid that most resembles your soul; either resembling your creators, or resembling your original appearance before you were a Shadow- or Light-Walker. This form retains all of your ability scores and features, but is indistinguishable from a normal flesh-and-blood body. You can change forms once per short rest or long rest, and your Shadow/Light-Swim ability immediately drops this form. A small part of you still stands out while in this changed form, such as a black sclera, a white iris, or a bleached or blackened patch of skin, feathers, scales or fur.

---Illiadian Trait (Only works on Sancstoryl, Illiad, or if two other Ena-Users are within 300ft from you ---Ena Mastery: You still have access to the lost art of Ena and can use
Ena-Techniques worth up to 3 Ena-Points after each long rest. You gain two additional points at Level 4, 8, 12 and 16, and three at Level 19. Your Ena-ability is either Charisma, Intelligence or Wisdom and chosen by you.
