The Golden Scribe

The Faceless Deity, The Golden Sovereign, The Sovereign of the Library, Asiah, Starlight Archivist

The most mysterious of the four major deities of Illiad, due to them lacking a permanent form. In fact, in many stories, the Golden Scribe changes forms often, even midway through. Thus, they also have no set name, but frequently get refered to simply as "Asiah", meaning "The Scribe". In fact, this is their occupation inside the Marble Cathedral.

Despite having creative abilities on par with Rencal and Merikira, they never created anything, besides their massive library in the Cathedral and the Illiadian Plane of the Gods, their so-called "Golden Realm", also known as the Golden Library, where they keep all the knowledge of both deities and mortals, as well as their record of everything that ever happened on Illiad. A common theory is that, despite their vast knowledge, they're indecisive, both with their own forms, as well as what they should be able to create.

Ever since the Humanity of Illiad was created, they also acted as the Patron of Humanity, and thus is worshipped by them as a protector, besides their usual role as Keeper of Knowledge. Also worth noting is, since the appearance of humanity, they've started taking on human forms more and more, and other forms less and less.

The basic tenets of The Scribe:

- Strive to learn as much as you can, and use what you learn wisely, as to benefit not only yourself, but those around you.
- Denounce those that wish to destroy knowledge, as lost knowledge is a tragedy that future generations will forever bear.
- Be neat, tidy, and always keep good track of the things that are important to you.
- Always remember that almost every event has a reason for happening; even if it's not always possible to find those reasons.

The Golden Scribe's Divine Domains - Explained

Knowledge - As the librarian of the Illiadian pantheon, The Golden Scribe is, of course, a patron of keepers of knowledge everywhere. Many librarians, but also professors and teachers tend to worship them because of this.

Arcana - Although magic as we know it doesn't really exists on Illiad to the extent as it does on Sancstoryl, as Ena is its closest equivalent, it's been noted that The Golden Scribe supports the aquisition of all knowledge, even arcane knowledge. Illiadians who study otherworldly arcane arts sometimes focus on this aspect of theirs.

Light - Like the other major deities of Illiad, The Golden Scribe is seen as a radiant lightbringer. Even though they never have created anything of note of their own, it is said that during the War of Shadows, a child of theirs was a point of guidance for many, and brought light into the darkness.

Order - As a deity in charge of a divine library, The Golden Scribe is also in charge of keeping it orderly, and making sure all forms of knowledge are in their proper places. As such, they see order and structure as something important, and are thus also worshipped as a deity of order.

Prophecy - As the one in charge of the books of history, The Golden Scribe is often able to make shockingly accurate predictions of future events. Thus, many consider them also a deity of Prophecy.
