Kerkis is the Illiadian Holy Grand Count of Cooking, as well as deity of Food, Food Preparation, Flavor and Chefs. Often taking on the appearance of a Munian Mikaru, it is said that he was the one who introduced the ancient Illiadians when Illiad was created to the concept of cooking and adding more flavor to it through herbs and spices. Often going hand-in-hand with the Grand Count of Pleasure, Adin, he is often prayed to by those who run restaurants, but also busy parents and spouses who pray that their family dinner turns out okay. His personal clerics are often said to be amazing chefs themselves.
While one of the more minor deities amongst the Grand Counts, Kerkis is nonetheless a valuable asset to his siblings. It is said that whenever Rencal Kei-Rhai and the other deities have audiences with deities from other worlds in order to forge contracts, Kerkis cooks for everyone present. Quite a few contracts are said to never have been signed if it weren't for Kerkis.
Kerkis only directly serves under Rencal Kei-Rhai. His realm within The Marble Cathedral is "The Endless Dining Room", where his followers and weary travelers flock to taste his excellent culinary delights. It is said that sometimes, doors to restaurants and kitchens on the Illiadian material plane sometimes lead the hungry here.
Basic tenets of Kerkis:
- Food is an art. Take your time, follow your heart, put a lot of love into your work, and your meals will turn out perfect every time.
- A meal is supposed to nourish and give life to you, as food is required for every living being, but a great meal must also bring pleasure. Be good to people and try to bring joy.
- Everyone can cook. Do not get discouraged over setbacks. Practice makes perfect!
