And winged and tailed species of very elvish looking, yet scaled people. There are only a few surviving remnants of the pure-blooded Mikaru of the past left, even though they once were the majority of the Illiadian people in Sancstroryl, as most of them were wiped out in
The Great Wasting. The Mikaru were, of all Illiadian races, hit the hardest. Most surviving Mikaruian families have since intertwined themselves with the local population, giving rise to native people with Illiadian bloodlines and customs, or became
Arrash. However, the few that still are around are often very old, and often are seen as walking encyclopedias of lost Illiadian knowledge; not counting a few that were born after the Great Wasting. They're a intellectually driven, but also warm and friendly people, but the loss of large parts of their culture and the disconnect from their homeland has let most of them to directionlessly wander the world of Sancstoryl in pursuit of a new home.
A people of Science and FaithThe Mikaru of old were a very advanced people, and many recent advancements in Ena-Tech and Magitech are results of the rediscovery of ancient texts that were originally written by Mikaru and
Arrash. Despite their scientific minds, the Mikaru were still a people where faith was deeply interwoven into everything they did. Many took the teachings of
Rencalism to heart, even the aspects regarding the preservation of nature in the faith. However, compared to the tribal Rencalism of their sibling-race, the
Ree-Mai, which teaches to preserve nature by living as part of it, Mikaruian Reformed Rencalism instead tries preserving nature by building around it and leaving as much of the natural world as untouched as possible; this has led to some interesting workarounds back on Illiad, like flying cities, cities carved into mountainsides or even cities that also acted as huge gardens.
Argentis itself, the Illiadian's current center of culture on Sancstoryl, seems to focus on greenery in the streets and bustling parks.

Age: Mikaru age about the same rate as humans until they're 21 years old. After this, they stop aging completely, until they may succumb to Ha'zas-Syndrome, which can be seen as Illiad's version of old age.
Many of the few full-blooded Mikaru that remain are at least over 2000 years old, having survived Ha'zas Syndrome and their lifespans extended, and have knowledge from the time before the Great Wasting and the Illiadian Diaspora. Even the elves are amazed at their long lives, and consider them ancient.
The few Mikaru born after the Great Wasting on Sancstoryl usually tend to live about 400 or 500 years old, before contracting Ha'zas-Syndrome, due to the Great Wasting shortening the lifespans of most Illiadians born after it.
