The Divine Authority is a theocracy led by a council composed of the clergy of several of the most popular good or neutral deities, and, arguably, the central authority for religious matters on the continent of Liwilai, though with the worship of the gods being as non-centralized as it is, this sentiment isn't universal. Though the divine authority already existed as an office within the old Great Liwilai Empire, in the aftermath of its collapse and the establishment of many new kingdoms, the religious authority, in an attempt to somewhat reestablish the balance in the chaos of it all, was able to raise an army and reconquer at least a part of the old empire, including its old capital of Rumas, which is now the Divine Authority's capital. The Divine Authority is currently well known for recent patronage of the arts, commissioning several religious works, but also for its unearthing of ancient religious texts, ancient philosophy, and the rediscovery of old cultural works. Nonetheless, the Divine Authority is currently wrestling with the issues of illegal cults of evil gods, both within its borders and in greater Corniola itself, frequently hiring members of the Liwilai Adventurer's Guild for help in this regard.
