Hades (God)

King of the Underworld

The Olympian Pantheon's god of wealth and the dead, who resides in the plane that shares his name, rather than Mt. Olympus on the plane of Arborea. His divine realm in his home plane is called the House of Hades, and can be found in the layer of Pluton. Hades lords over the underworld of those who follow the Olympean Pantheon; on Sancstoryl, that means mostly the people of Grehel.

It is worth noting that the followers of the Olympean Pantheon in Grehel have a bit of a different image of Hades than those outside the country. Namely, the people of Grehel consider Hades an evil deity, while those outside consider him more neutral. This makes sense if you consider that the people of Grehel consider the underworld of Hades a terrible and frightful place; considering that it's located in a lower plane, brimming with fiends, this may even be true. However, those outside the country can look at Hades with more nuance, and see that, for a supposedly "Dark" deity, he is actually rather reasonable. Hades has no hatred of the souls that enter his realm, and judges them rather fairly. According to him, death comes to everyone, and should be accepted, even if it brings grief.

This however doesn't change the fact that in Grehel, Hades has quite a few followers who are Necromancers and Assassins, and he tolerates their worship of him, which doesn't exactly improve his image amongst the people of Grehel.
