Crown Prince Hyeon-Ju, eldest child of Her Imperial Majesty Han Gyeong-Hui, embraced the responsibilities inherent in being heir from his early childhood. He studied hard, excelled in school, and achieved high marks on both the Imperial Scholar's Exam and the Imperial Military Exam. This led him to pursue a career in the military, intending to help protect the people of Goguryeo and to learn leadership skills in the most practical way possible.
During the Tyrsenian Invasion, he was one of the last defenders at the Western Gates of Unknown and he and his soldiers were extracted from that location by the Theran heroes known as the Godseekers. This is an encounter he is unlikely to ever forget. Towards the end of the war, he marched under the banner of the Tiger along with Guardian Unknown on the camp of Legatus Mitra to ensure her death. It is for this action that he was declared a hero.
During Ghost Night, Unknown intervened in a demonic attack on Hyeon-Ju and the Ghost Dinner. It was during that time that they saw the first hints of his fragile mental state, including the fact that he has been hallucinating Unknown.
