Aldous is the chosen Vassal of the Gray King. He rules over the city of Orlaine, and is next in line to be King of Alterra should the current king perish or resign.
His duty as Vassal is to act in the King's name as needed, and to see to the lawful and swift swearing in of the next king when the time comes.
