The Unchained are one of the largest, and most treacherous Pirate Companies of Beggar's Bay. Almost a decade ago, when the company was led by Orwell Paxton, the company was also one of the most respected of the pirate companies of The Free City of Barthe.
However, the current leader of the Unchained, Sevrik Corvus, has led the company down a more sinister path. Under Captain Corvus' command, the Unchained do not hesitate to break the laws of the Kingdoms or cause mayhem and destruction to further their goals; often raiding villages along the coast of Bhyrmia, and famously launching one of the only successful raids against the city of Neverwinter, known as the Night of a Thousand Lashes.
In recent years, the Unchained have grown rapidly in numbers, and now command a veritable armada of ships.
However, they have remained strangely inactive for the past couple of months.
The Unchained fleet decimated the fishing village of Montague, completely wiping the population that did not flee. Those villagers that "died" in the massacre became undead - resembling the appearance of the Unchained pirates.

The emblem on the flags of the Unchained's ships is a Jolly Roger, with a broken pair of handcuffs dangling from the cross-bones.
