Of the Crocians, brownscales stand apart for the ability to handle saltwater. Similar to saltwater crocodiles brownscales share their ability to drink saltwater and spend long periods of time swimming at sea. With this numerous brownscales can be found living on small island communities and can end up working as sailors and shipwrights if they are in humanoid settlements.
The Brownscale are physically the largest of the gatorkin breeds, and as such are usually picked to be warriors or champions. Though they are usually a bit slower than their cousins, they still have a tendency towards surprisingly quick motion. Loyal to their friends but doom to their enemies, the brownscales are well respected pillars of the community.
Civil leaders are often chosen from among this clan, due primarily to the fact that Brownscales tend to live to old age more often.
