Albion

Albion (Al-bee-yon) is a realm steeped in history and tradition, situated in the midlands of Weyland. At its heart lies the seat of the High King of Albion, a throne that has remained vacant since the death of the last High King several years ago. This vacancy has led to intense infighting among the great houses of Albion, each vying for the coveted position. However, none who have stood before the Green Man, the enigmatic figure who judges the worthiness of candidates, have proven suitable. The struggle for succession continues, leaving the realm in a state of political turmoil.

Albion's landscape is as diverse as it is beautiful, featuring a mix of moors, mountains, ancient forests, and serene lakes. Southern Albion is particularly notable for its massive escarpment, a dramatic geological feature that separates the southern kingdoms from their northern neighbors. This escarpment not only defines the region's geography but also its cultural and historical divisions.

Vale City, the capital of Albion, is perched atop this escarpment, encompassing the breathtaking Great Falls, which cascade over 3,000 feet to the lands below. Access between the highlands and lowlands is facilitated by huge elevators connected by way stations, creating one of the few routes through this natural barrier. Vale City is an ancient Eldren city, remarkably untouched by time and erosion. The city's pure white stone remains indestructible and unblemished, a testament to Eldren craftsmanship.

Uniquely, Vale City extends beyond the falls on a massive cantilever, featuring terraces both above and below. These terraces offer impressive views and platforms, making Vale City one of the Wonders of the Eldren. The city is home to virtually every civilized race, a melting pot of cultures and traditions. The Portal Quarter of Vale City boasts the largest collection of portal stones found anywhere, many of which have never been used or observed in operation, adding to the city's mystique.

In summary, Albion is a realm of moors, mountains, ancient forests, and lakes, marked by a massive southern escarpment. The seat of the High King remains empty, causing political turmoil. Vale City, an ancient and unblemished Eldren city, sits atop the escarpment, extending beyond the Great Falls and home to a diverse population and the largest collection of portal stones. The quest for a new High King continues to shape the destiny of Albion.
