Reddoth is a city of quiet people focused on manufacturing thrust into prominence. With the rise of Giorg Harmthane to King, Reddoth has taken on a much more important role of being the capital city of the kingdom. The mixture of court royalty, nobility, and all of the hangers on that come with them with the quiet and hardworking people of Reddoth has set the city on the edge of riot several times.
Added to this, now that King Harmthane has devoted the primary focus of his kingdom into building a navy large enough to rule the sea and carry his armies to foreign lands, Reddoth's skilled and unskilled laborers have been thrust together on a new project, building a navy.
Important Organizations
Laborer's Guild
The laborer's Guild of Reddoth is now one of the most influential organizations on Frostorm. Until they elected a young Giorg Harmthane as their Labor Captain this was not the case however. The guild has existed for around a century, but had not been successful to do more than win small victories for Reddoth's laborers until Giorg Harmthane. Giorg formed the laborer's Guild into a force that was highly organized and with the very first organized strike of Reddoth's workers, he shut down industry and catapulted himself to the position of Head of House Harmthane.
Now that their former captain is the King, the Laborer's Guild holds a position of prominence in the kingdom.
College of Harm
The College of Harm was established 26 years ago in 560 SSWY, but was really just the Harmthane school of magic given a rebranding. Each of the Houses on Frostorm has had their own school of magical training for centuries, but now with Reddoth being the capital of the kingdom the College of Harm has risen to be the most prominent school. Giorg Harmrhane established the college with one primary purpose, discover the means to pierce the Stormwall and produce mages capable of aiding naval warfare. As a result, the College of Harm has produced what are colloquially labeled as 'storm-mages', people whose primary focus is on how they can aid a sailing ship by calming or inflaming the weather, or even harnessing it in battle.
The Library
Early in Frostorm's history, there was a fifth group of people who arrived on Frostorm. When the Stormwall arrived, this group believed the inhabitants of Frostorm to be cursed by the gods, sentenced to be imprisoned on Frostorm forever for their crimes. This group of religious zealots collected as many sea charts and written records of history that they could from the other refugees and then hijacked all of the oceangoing vessels and sailed into the Stormwall, never to be seen again. As a result, the people of Frostorm have lost almost all knowledge aside from oral traditions and tales of the outside world.
The Library of Reddoth was established to collect and maintain any and all written manuscripts of history that could be collected. With references to pre-Stormwall times being few and far between, the Librarians of the Library are militant in their search and protection of documents.
The Cult of War
While the main religion of Frostorm is worship of the pantheon of gods, and primarily the elemental gods, there is a large cult of worshippers who proclaim their dedication to the lost god. Their religious viewpoint leads them to promote warfare. The priesthood and clerics of this cult are fanatical in their dedication to warfare.
Currently this cult has risen in prominence and has been given a voice in government by King Harmthane, against the loud complaints of the other temples.
