RP 05 - Talking at the shrines

RP

After freeing the shrines of orcs and ogre, Pine would have a quick word with Sister Sandren and Brother Bartock. This would have been easy to have been overheard by other members of the group.

[Pine]
"You have had more training in clerical matters than I. When summoning spirit guardians they have spoken to me, sentient. At other times since then without me summoning them at all. Is this common? Is there some protection I have not been using?"

[DM]
Sister Sandren would speak while tending to the injured farmer: "Forgive me Master Pine but that is not so - yes we have studied for many years and have been granted blessings by the gods but the miracles you have performed far outstrip our capabilities"

Brother Bartock: "Faiths are different of course and the way the gods manifest these gifts are quite varied - but if I was to crudely measure what you do it is the beyond most of the priesthood...anywhere."

Sister Sandren: However, from what I understand the divine magic is shaped more from who you are as a person than something external. Have you perhaps experienced any personality changes?"

[Pine]
"Shadow of the Pride had such skills, and more, if the tales are to be believed, but there was no mention of what I am experiencing."

He knew his words came out as defensive, uncertain.  He had been relying on them knowing more than he did, even if their skills were not as strong.

At sister Sandren's question, he would frown.  That was the second time someone had questioned about any personality changes, and it left him uneasy.

"Not that I am aware of.  My circumstances have changed.  My task is to lay the dead on mountains to rest, but some mountains require more help to perform that than others.  This is the longest time I have been away from them since my youth."

After a moment he would pause, recalling something, only because the question itself had been so specific.

"One of the times I was in Phandalin before, I experienced a flush of anger that was uncommon, but I cannot recall anything else."

[DM]
Sister Sandren would frown and continue on "Even if the changes are subtle they should not be discounted. Perhaps we can speak at more length assuming the city survives? I would be happy to guide you through a session"

[Pine]
He would nod, "I would appreciate that. The advancement of the power I have been given is... unsettling."
